Values

 

At Preston we believe in five core values which make up the work GREAT.

 

Generosity - Acting with kindness, generosity, and caring for those around you, even if it means you have to go out of your way to do so.

Resilience - Continuing to give your best effort, even when this is challenging, you aren’t enjoying it or are not succeeding straight away.

Enquiry - Show a can-do attitude and inquisitive nature in your learning, so that you are constantly trying to improve every day.

Ambition - Having the motivation to improve yourself each day in order to succeed in whatever you want to do in the future.

Teamwork - Collaborating well with others in order to reach a personal and/or collective goal.

 

As a school, we believe that: 

• Every student has the ability to learn. 
• Every student has an entitlement to the best educational experience a school can provide. 
• Academic learning begins with motivation and inspiration and each student deserves to be taught by staff that have passion for and knowledge of their subject.
• Teaching should facilitate learning and growth academically, personally and ethically, providing students with holistic skills for success in lifelong learning. 
• Students must be made to feel special, and encouraged to work beyond the level they feel they are capable of with aspirational target setting and the support framework and opportunities for them to be successful regardless of their starting point.  
• This must all be achieved in a happy and safe environment.
