To Somerset Parents/Carers,
Tuesday 12th November 2019 @ Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, 9am – 3pm and 4 – 7pm
As a parent/carer it can sometimes be difficult to support your son/daughter with informed decisions relating to their future, especially education options, careers and job routes. Making the right decision about career progression routes has never been more important.
It can often be a minefield to get accurate, timely and important information relating to the many options, stages and varied progression routes including Higher and Further Education, University Fees & Loans, Apprenticeships, jobs and careers. It is also becoming increasingly important to get the right information at the right time – to help support GCSE options, Post 16 institution choices and Post 18 routes, including the new 16 – 18 T Level qualification which launches in September 2020 and will be offered next year in Somerset, initially by Strode College and Bridgwater & Taunton College.
Our Somerset Careers Fair is aimed at providing parents/carers with the latest, best, impartial advice and information from the widest range of institutions and providers – including Sixth Forms, Colleges, Universities, Apprenticeship providers, Employers, Community sector organisations, etc. This year’s Fair will have over 60 exhibitors all within the fabulous setting of the Fleet Air Arm museum.
From 4-7pm (last entry at 6.30pm) the Fair will be aimed at Parents and young people to come and meet the exhibitor experts, to find out more about these different routes and options. This will include free drop-in presentations that will give the latest information about Post 16 options, T Levels, Apprenticeships and life at University. These first come, first served 20-minute sessions will be delivered in the events hall within the museum:
· Apprenticeships - 4.30pm and 5.30pm – presented by the Young Apprentice Ambassador Network
· The NEW T Level qualifications - 5.00pm and 6.00pm – presented by Bridgwater & Taunton College
· Higher Education & Life at University – 5.00pm and 6.00pm – presented by Sian Deasy.
The Careers Fair is free to attend and there is plenty of free parking at the venue.
