Preston School announces new Headteacher and Senior Prefect Team.
I am delighted to have been successfully appointed as the permanent new Headteacher of Preston School. I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been chosen to continue to develop this fantastic school onto the next stage of its journey. Preston is a school that is very close to my heart and this is a role I have aspired to for a number of years.
I have worked in education for over 30 years and 22 of those have been at Preston where I began as Head of Mathematics. I have held a number of leadership roles at the school so have a thorough understanding of its many strengths. I also have a clear vision of how I want to further improve the school, to provide an exceptional learning experience for all of our students, so that they are successful and well-prepared for the next stage of their lives.
Preston is an excellent school and visitors never fail to comment upon the calm and purposeful learning environment and the polite and courteous character of our students. We have highly dedicated staff with very supportive parents and community and I know how important it is to build those positive relationships both in and outside of the school.
I look forward to meeting many of you in the next few months and working with you in the coming years and finally, I would like to wish every student in Year 11 the very best of luck for their GCSE exams which start in earnest next week. They have been working extremely hard on their revision and I know they will continue to do so until the very last exam is taken. Good luck one and all!
I have had the great pleasure this week of appointing the new head prefects for next year – Isaac Spurway, Head Boy, Ava Howarth, Head Girl. Adam Harriss, Deputy Head Boy and Isabel Flagg, Deputy Head Girl. They all gave excellent presentations to the Senior Leadership Team, making the decision of appointments very difficult indeed. I know they will make a fantastic team, along with all of the other prefects soon to be appointed.
