Message to Year 11 Families

Dear Year 11 families,
We hope that you are well and your child in Year 11is fully prepared for the last of their GCSE exams, having enjoyed a good half-term/Jubilee break.
With quite a lot going on over the next few months we thought it would be useful to send out an aide memoire on important dates, milestones and messages.
Shirt Signing
Shirt signing will be after the students’ last Science exam on Thursday 23rd June. Students will gather in the main hall for this following their exam. Please be aware that the last whole year group exam will on Friday 24th June, where students must come into the exam in a normal school shirt not one that has been signed the previous day. This also applies to the students taking the final Polish written exam on Monday 27th June.
Chrome Books
We have asked for all students who have a school chrome book to hand these back in on Thursday 23rd June please. Students will need to return the chrome books to our IT technicians during break time on this day in order for them to be signed back in.
Hoodies, Year Books and Leavers’ Assembly
Hoodies and year books will be handed out for students to take home during the Leavers’ assembly on Tuesday 5th July 12.15pm -13.45pm. If students are not here for the leaver's assembly, they can come in and collect their yearbook and/or hoodie from Miss Forni or their AM after this week. No year books will be given out before this date, so you can arrange to collect them any time after Tuesday 5th June. We will be having music and a BBQ for all year 11 students straight after the leaver's assembly as part of their last day altogether in school.
Prom
Just a reminder that Prom will be held at Haselbury Mill, Haselbury Plucknett, TA18 7NY, on Thursday 7th July. The arrival time will be from 6.15pm for photos (if students wish to have some taken with friends), with students being seated by 7.15pm for their two-course meal. There will be entertainment following the meal and the evening will end at 10.30pm.
Results day
This will held on Thursday 25th August. Students will be invited in to collect their results from 9:30-10:30am. If you are unable to collect your results in person, please provide a stamped and self-addressed envelope (approximately 8½” x 4½”) to Mrs Smith before Wednesday 13 July 2021. Please mark your envelope with the words “Exam Results”. Another person may only collect your results on your behalf if they have a letter from you giving your permission for them to do so. They must produce photo ID for themselves, e.g. a driving licence or passport.
Uniform & PE kit
At this time of year I always request that any spare uniform or PE kit that are not needed any more are donated to school. This helps us support students who arrive to school without the correct uniform or have a uniform malfunction during the day. The following uniform/PE kit items are particularly welcomed:
Blazers
Ties
School shoes
PE kit
Trainers
If you do have any items that you are able to donate, please bring/send them into reception where there is a basket to leave them. Thank you in advance for your generosity with this.
Thank you for all of your support throughout your son/daughter’s time at Preston, particularly if this is your youngest child leaving us! We really do appreciate the support that we receive from our families and acknowledge how important this it to the future success of every student. They are a fantastic year group and we will miss them next year but wish them all the very best for the future. As always, if there is anything that we can do to support them or yourselves at all over the next few months then please do just let us know.
