Additional INSET Day

Additional INSET Day

Students will now not come to school on this day.

Dear families,

I am writing to inform you of an additional INSET day that has been agreed for this year. This will be on Monday 6th June 2022, which is the day we were originally due back after May half-term. Students will now not come to school on this day.

The reason for this is so that we can adequately prepare for the new academic year. Having joined the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership (MNSP) in February, we have several aspects of curriculum and assessment that we need to adapt so that we align with their policies. To ensure that this is done well we need a day where all teaching staff can work on this at the same time for the whole day. Apologies for any inconvenience that this causes you but I hope that having plenty of notice helps.

This is a change to the previous email to the families Year 11 students, as Monday 6th June 2022 was intended to be their last full day of compulsory lessons. Students who have their GCSE Child Development exam on that day should come in for the exam as normal and will then be able to leave afterwards. From Tuesday 7th June Year 11 students will come in for their exams and any lessons in which they are yet to sit their exam for that subject (no core PE or PSHE lessons). Once they have sat their last exam in that subject they do not need to come in for those lessons any more.

Best wishes

Gregg Morrison

Principal
