Year 11 Prom

Year 11 Prom

Monday, March 21, 2022

The date has been set!

Dear Parents/Carers

I am pleased to be able to share with you the details of the 2022 Year 11 Prom.

The Prom will be held at Haselbury Mill, Haselbury Plucknett, TA18 7NY, on Thursday 7th July. The arrival time will be from 6:15pm for photos (if students wish to have some taken with friends), with students being seated by 7:15pm for their two-course meal. There will be entertainment (music) following the meal and the evening will end at 10:30pm. We are in the process of finalising the Prom ticket costs and this information will be sent to you over the next week along with details regarding payment. Students will be completing an online form to confirm attendance and meal choices following this.  A further key date is the Year 11 Leavers’ Assembly on Tuesday 5th July from 12:15pm - 1:45pm. This time frame includes the arrival time, the assembly, and an opportunity to be with their peers and AMs should they wish to after the assembly. This will be a chance for students to come together after their exams have finished and receive a farewell from staff.

Please note, the Prom is a specific reward for students who have demonstrated high levels of effort during Year 11. Students can become confident, respectful, and successful learners by making the most of every opportunity offered to them, and it is these everyday efforts that we recognise in giving students the opportunity to take part in this special event. The following is a list of criteria that we will be looking at with regards to students being invited to, and allowed to attend the Prom:

· revision sessions attended (including the Impress resources),

· high engagement in learning in every lesson,

· positive behaviour and achievement points,

· attendance (with COVID not being considered),

· punctuality to school and to every lesson, and

· uniform correctly worn every day.

The criteria set out above is monitored daily and if a student has not been meeting these criteria which are linked to the Preston School BASICS, they will have an opportunity to start doing so immediately.

I hope that your child is looking forward to celebrating with us this summer, but before that point, there are some important months ahead and they will currently be focused on their Year 11 studies. To that end, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the revision resources that are available to all our students on the Student Portal and the revision sessions taking place after school.  Please encourage your child to use these resources as much as possible if they are not doing so already, as it will help them to reach their maximum potential in their final exams.

Should you have any further questions, please email me: charlotte.forni@prestonschool.co.uk. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support in your child's learning journey over the past 4 and a half years and I look forward to the remaining time we have left with our wonderful students.

Kind regards

Miss Forni
