Non-Uniform Day

Friday 4th March
Dear families,
As a school community we would like to do what we can to support the people of Ukraine, at this terrible time for them. We have decided that Friday 4th March 2022 will be a non-uniform day to raise money for the British Red Cross, who are playing a vital role in the humanitarian response in the country and beyond. If students would like to attend in non-uniform on Friday we would ask for a £1 contribution, to be paid on the school gateway (available via the Family Portal). The usual school rules on make-up, piercings etc will still apply on the day and any hats worn will need to be removed when in lessons.
The work done by the British Red Cross is outlined here: The British Red Cross | Worldwide Humanitarian Charity .
Another charity who we work very closely with locally is School In A Bag. They are also supporting the children of Ukraine and their work can been seen here: https://www.schoolinabag.org/ .
Students have also been watching videos and discussing the situation in Ukraine this week, as we look to keep them suitably and sensibly informed of the situation, whilst also reassuring and supporting those that need it. I hope that we have struck the right balance with this.
Best wishes
Gregg Morrison
