Leavers Ball Cancelled

Dear Parents/Guardians

Due to the recent government announcement and hospitality guidelines, it is with much regret that the decision had to be made to cancel the Leaver’s Ball, taking place at Haselbury Mill on 8th July 2021. We have contacted the venue and they are sadly unable to host events like this until the next government relaxations come in.

Refunds will be made by the finance department as soon as possible. We completely understand everybody’s frustration with this announcement, we were looking forward to seeing and sharing this lovely evening with your sons and daughters. Please pass on my best wishes for their future whatever it may bring and we will be in touch to hold a celebratory event once the planned relaxations come in to play.

Yesterday’s announcement has also meant that there is now uncertainty over the GCSE Results Day as well. If we are able to we will have students in to collect their results on Thursday 12th August 2021, but if the rules do not allow this we will have to send them across electronically. We should have an indication of this by 12th July so we will, of course, let you know. Hopefully we will be able to see everyone and the students won’t have this taken away from them as well.
