Thank you for your support
Dear families,
Thank you for your ongoing support throughout this term. It has been great to be back in school full-time for a few months now and start to feel that we are gradually getting back to a normal school routine as more relaxations come in to force. I believe that during the half-term break we should find out what will change for schools from 21st June, so once we have looked at this I will be able to communicate our plans to you.
Also, a reminder that this Friday (28th May) is an INSET day. This was not originally on the calendar but was moved from its original date just before Easter. We moved it so that the staff had a full day to assess, moderate and catalogue all of the Year 11 assessments and we will use it solely for this purpose, as it is a huge job. I am incredibly grateful to the staff for their hard work in teaching, supporting and assessing the work of Year 11 students, especially given the pressures put on secondary schools by the system used this year.
Finally, I would like to thank the Year 11 students for everything that they have contributed during their time at Preston. Despite the turmoil of the last 15 months and the many ways that this has affected them, they have continued to work hard and be great members of our school community. On behalf of all of the students, staff and governors, we wish them all the very best of luck for the next steps in their life. We know that lots will stay in touch and come back to visit us. I would also like to thank all of the families of students in Year 11 for all of their support during their time with us. It is much appreciated and a special thanks to those who have their last child leaving Preston School – it has been great working with you.
I wish you all the best for a nice half-term break and we look forward to seeing all students and staff return on Monday 7th June 2021.
Best wishes
Gregg Morrison
