A message from the Principal

Dear families,

I hope that you all enjoyed a good Easter and that you and your family are all well.

Firstly, thank you for your ongoing support as we return to school for the summer term. We hope to be in school for the whole term and for it not to be interrupted by anymore lockdowns. To make sure that we keep ourselves safe though we would still ask that the voluntary Lateral Flow Tests are used twice per week and that you inform us of any positive test immediately. As has been the case all academic year, any student who has symptoms or lives in a household with anyone who has symptoms or who has tested positive must isolate and not come in to school. The students have had enough tests to last them until the end of next week and we are expecting a delivery of more tests imminently, which we will distribute when they arrive. If any students has run out then please ask them to go the Finance Office to collect some more.  

Thanks also for your support with students’ uniform. It is great to see students looking so smart again now the shops are open to buy larger trousers, skirts etc and also the hairdressers having been busy for many students and staff!

In terms of how the rest of the academic year plays out COVID-wise, we are very much following the government’s roadmap and hoping that the Department for Education issue guidance on how schools can adapt their ways of working accordingly with any relaxations to the current rules. As and when we get these we will translate them in to sensible, safe ways of working for Preston School and inform yourselves and the students. The summer term normally contains lots of different experiences and trips for students. Unfortunately, most of them won’t be able to happen but we are hoping to put some things on for the students if the rules allow.
