Run down of this week
Firstly and most importantly, a huge thank you for your continued support with your child’s learning. The engagement of our students is fantastic with 98.5% engaging with their work and some amazing things happening. My colleagues and I have been really impressed with the endeavour, quality of work and great communication of the students during this lockdown. This cannot happen without your support so a huge ‘thank you’ as always. As you will have heard earlier in the week, it was announced that the earliest that schools would return to being fully open would be Monday 8th March 2021. We will keep looking out for more news via the media and will communicate our plans to you as soon as we are able to. Until then we will continue with our current plans. If your situation changes or we can offer you more support in any way then please just get in contact with myself or a member of staff and we will do everything that we can to help you.
Secondly, a huge thank you for your support during this week during our Ofsted inspection. Whilst we were expecting ‘the call’ at any point I perhaps wasn’t as prepared to be one of the first schools in the country to be inspected under the new framework which began…this week! I am not able to share the outcome until it is officially released but what I can tell you is that the two inspectors were impressed with many aspects of the inspection. I would like to thank all of you who sent supportive messages to staff this week and took the time to fill out the parent view questionnaire. The inspectors were impressed with the positivity of the students, families and staff that they engaged with. The Parent View outcomes are public data on the Ofsted website and if you have seen the results you will know that we are significantly above the national averages for every one of the measures. Thank you once again for your ongoing support and you will be hearing from me when I am allowed to tell you the outcome!
Best wishes for a lovely weekend when it arrives. Please make sure that your child steps away from their books and learning screen and gets some well-deserved down-time.
