Languages challenge
Here is a chance for you to show your language skills!
The Association for Language Learning , the British Council and the cultural and linguistic bodies in the United Kingdom have combined efforts to devise an exciting event entitled ‘Express Yourself in Lockdown’
This will be an opportunity to showcase your enjoyment of a language that you are learning or that is normally used in your home community from home (except for English!).
You can prepare:
· A short poem in the target language (written by yourself or by another author)
· A short presentation on any theme e.g. climate change, equality, why you love languages
· A short sketch
· A short dialogue
This can be a solo or joint performance but should be no longer than 90 seconds in total and should be recorded in landscape mode. You will record yourself delivering your performance, however if you are under-16 you should use either PowerPoint slides/Bitmoji/other pictures or video imagery rather than showing your faces.
Finished recordings will be shared on the school web site, Facebook page and Twitter account.
Please submit your recordings to Mr Peace (ideally links, not huge files please) at jonathan.peace@prestonschool.co.uk or share on Twitter tagging / mentioning @MFLPreston and @Preston_School on Twitter with the hashtag #CelebrateSpeaking and the language used in the recording e.g. #Polish.
Deadline is 21st February 2021.
