Wednesday 11th November
Dear Parents and Carers
As you will be aware, it is Armistice Day on Wednesday 11th November. This is a significant day in the school year and provides us all with an opportunity to reflect and consider what sacrifices others have made and continue to make for our country. Each year Preston School participates by holding a Remembrance Service.
This assembly is traditionally planned and delivered by the Year 10 students, due to the current global situation, this will be slightly different this year. The student have pre recorded this and it will be shown to the school virtually.
Year 10 students have also been organising the Poppy Appeal in support of The Royal British Legion in school in the fortnight leading up to the Service and we hope all staff and students will support this worthwhile charity.
We would like to invite students who are members of the any of the uniformed or public services to wear their uniforms on this day instead of school uniform.
Any donations towards the Poppy Appeal and encouraging your child to wear a poppy would be greatly appreciated.
Yours sincerely
Preston School
