A high standard of personal appearance is expected of all students and anyone arriving at school in non-uniform clothing can expect to be sent to student receptions and or home to change. All uniform should be checked on entry to and exit from classrooms.

Failure to comply with school rules will lead to a warning, detention and possible internal isolation.

Shoes

Shoes must be black leather type not suede or other fabric. Heels should be no more than 2.5 inches and boots should never be worn.The wearing of trainers is not allowed.

Make Up

Make up is only allowed for Year 11 students and should be discrete and natural looking. Natural looking makeup may include a pale shade of eye shadow, black or brown mascara and foundation the same colour as the student's natural skin tone. The following make products are not permitted; glitter make up, eye liner, lip stick, lip gloss. Those wearing inappropriate make up will be asked to remove it. Nail varnish is not permitted in any year group and if worn by a student, they will be asked to remove it.

Hair

Hair must never be of an extreme style or colour and should not include patterns or lines.

Hair colour should be natural looking. Hair that is dyed more than one colour is not acceptable. Streaks of colour within the hair that are not the student's natural hair colour are not acceptable.

Hair should not be cut to Grade one or below, hair should be no shorter than Grade 2 at any point on the head. Mohican and under cut styles are not acceptable. Patterns and lines within the hair style are not permitted.
 
Facial hair is accepted in Year 11 only.

Jewellery

Earrings should be worn one in each ear lobe. These must be of a stud type only, hoops and dangling earrings are not permitted. Earrings that are spikes and therefore protrude above the skin surface are not permitted on the grounds of health and safety. Spacer earrings are also not permitted. Jewellery is a health and safety issue when students are working in science labs, workshops and PE.

All other body piercing is not acceptable and cannot be covered by a plaster, this includes nose studs, tongue bars and piercings at the top of the ear. Only one simple ring, no large stones or sovereigns, may be worn.

Necklaces and bracelets should not be worn.

Additional jewellery will have to be removed.

  • Join our informal Savings Club where you can put aside money gradually and use at a later date to purchase items.
  • Buy in shop Monday – Saturday 9am-5pm (Except all bank holidays excluding August bank holiday where we will be open 10am-4pm)
